HMS Sussex
HMS Sussex a phantom ship?! I couldn't find any legends or stories that said so.
And instead of jewels for successfully battling against Sussex, money or gold would be more appropriate. She was supposedly carrying gold coins then.
On a side note, I wonder the third-party program prevention system that is supposed to be updated today is of Koei's work or Softstar's.
Update:
Just been chatting with Yoyo about this.
1. Would this be NPC-controlled or GM-controlled?
My guess is NPC-controlled. Solely because I'm wondering whether Softstar would arrange so much man-power for this. You would need at least 5 persons for a fleet, and at least another GM as a referee. At least 6 persons in total. Nay, I would say it would be NPC-controlled.
2. Where would it appear?
If Softstar follows the history, it would be near Gibraltar as Sussex was sailing from England to Spain. (Source) But then again, using the name of a normal sunk ship for a phantom ship, I wouldn't expect that history would be referred much.
Update 2:
So it was NPC-controlled. I couldn't pay much attention to the message screen as I was battling in the Caribbeans. Anyway, my guild members mentioned that it was a piece of cake. However it seems that drop items are not a guarantee.
Now comes the ironic part. The ships appeared near London, and the main storyline characters were out "encouraging" people to join the battle. Hearing Liza giving commands was really ironic. HMS Sussex was an English ship! And if it was really sunk just outside London, it would be an international joke already!
If Softstar really worries that not much people will join the battle if the location is not convenient, at least do it near Gibraltar. The location would not be too inconvenient, and yet still matches the history.
If you really want to do an event, at least do it decently well. A half-prepared event with contradictions that could be found without much effort would just be a joke.

The phantom ships event could be quite successful? Quite many participated and last night it was between Lisbon and Seville. The scripts were not too bad either. Portugal and Spain had a duet last night. And it was rumored that... Read More
