Taiwan CB Ends Dec 20

From the chat of a Gamer forumer with Softstar's representative at the Taiwan IT tradeshow, it's confirmed now that the CB will end on 20 December 2005.

Summary:
- CB ends 20 December 2005.
- Only the initial three countries will be available for OB.

When will OB start? My guess is any time between 21 December to 24 December 2005. When will OB end? Maybe before the Chinese Lunar New Year at the end of January 2006? Hopefully I could get an OB account.

Update:
Ririna mentioned that the OB actually will start on 20 December 2005 too. I mean, won't this be like a bit rushing? Hmm... then I guess the CB will end 9.00am and OB will start like 12.00 noon or 3.00pm, like the schedule for the routine server maintenance.

"Christmas Event!" Update:

Briefly, this will include several changes (not a direct translation):

  • The Merry Christmas! event will be held from 12/14 - 12/28. Towns will be filled with special events, music, and items.
  • The 2nd Newbie Campaign will be held from 12/14-1/18
  • There will now be 3 separate times for the Great Sea Fight to reflect light, medium, and heavy class ships.
  • Something about GVO@MObile service.
  • Treasure Chests! Get treasure chests by searching Treasure Maps & winning them in Sea Fights! The "Pick Lock" skill is required to open.
  • Lotto!? In accordance with French & Italian 16th century practices GVO introduces "Lotto". If you buy items you may receive a "Lotto ticket" that corresponds to the amount you bought. You can then receive gift items?
  • The number of quests you can view at the Dispatcher expands at lv30, lv40, and lv50.
  • The following Battle changes:
    • Flame shot will produce the effect of explosion in opponent's gunpowder.
    • Smoke shot will produce the effect of jamming an opponent's cannons (one load).
    • Chain shot will produce the effect that the opponent's speed will decrease and if Critical, then destroy sails or rudder.
    • Grape shot critical damage increases, and also produces the effect of lowering your opponent's skill points.
    • Double shot critical range will be extended.
  • Skill changes:
    • In the situation that you defend against an opponent's Assault skill with Defense skill, the Counter-attack will increase if matched by the opponent's assault power???
    • You can suppress the damage to crew if you use the Survival skill during Storms or Winter Storms.
    • If you hold the "Security Box/Processing" skill, then you can suppress the loss of clothes that you do not have equipped.
    • Forage skill use on the seas will have increase change of a "hit".
  • Configuration changes to Medium & Heavy Carrack/Caravel.
  • Changes to the amount of influence small countries give compared to large countries to independent ports.
  • The Ottoman Empire will start to expand territory and influence. No note on whether this is automatic or player-related.
  • More items to win with quests??
  • Explorer EXP during storms & snow storms.
  • Prizes for races
  • Chatroom owner changes when the original owner logs out.

Softstar still hasn't announced how they are going to release the OB accounts. I hope it's possible for non-Taiwanese/non-Hong Konger to get some online, i.e. no need to go physically to somewhere/buy something to get them.

Not sure why the system won't parse the default tags. But just copied the default tags and set it as customized. Things look fine now. Strange. @@
