GVO and NAO: Thriving Economy

The different occupations inside NAO is very much dependent on each other, regardless during fights or in production. I'll touch on production today.

Most of the inventory for an occupation could only be produced by another occupation. And even when one occupation would like to produce, part (and sometimes most) of the raw material could only be gathered by other occupations.

All these really detailed interdependence makes the players very much interactive. You could not go very far if you solo. (Okay maybe you could create numerous characters to support your main character but you would still need a middleman.) Only for the really last resorts would people buy from NPC since the price is pretty much five-star rate. :P

These create a really triving economy inside the word of NAO. There will be people peddling their goods and people shouting for supplies. The price is up to the law of supply and demand. If you look closely enough, you would find people who are willing to sell their quality goods at a reasonable price. For myself, I would try to aim to sell at a reasonable price so that I could see people running around wearing my goods. :P

In GVO, I'm not sure whether different specializations of merchants would need to depend on each other. My experience only stops at the PC version where you dump your lucrative goods at strategic ports. And there is no branding in GVO, I think. So the economy could only be reflected by how much you can buy at the market place and the development level of the port.

To watch and help a port grows and make your country prosperous will be another kind of satisfaction. How I wish I could experience it soon.
